Does Wallington County have a second stage?
Yes. For September 2027 entry, Wallington County Grammar School uses SET and the shared boys’ second stage. The current policy combines standardised SET and second-stage results in a 2:3 ratio. Descriptions of Wallington County as a one-stage route are out of date for this cycle.

What 2:3 tells you
Source: Wallington County 2027 policy (accessed 2026-09-24)
The policy assigns two fifths to SET and three fifths to the second stage. It does not give a universal raw-percentage pass mark. Keep the current policy separate from finer scoring descriptions in older FAQs.
What to check beyond the exam

The policy includes looked-after children, eligible staff children, ranked places, Pupil Premium provision and a named-postcode category. Use the precise conditions and allocation order in the policy; the categories are not extra seats on top of the total.
A practical next step
- Use the written-answer second-stage guide, not only SET multiple-choice drills.
- Practise stating a final maths answer with the right unit.
- Ask your child to explain one reading inference in complete sentences.
- Keep the invitation and council application deadline together.
