What it covers

Method

  1. You choose your child's school year; we work out the September they start Year 7 (Year 6 now means September 2027) and the autumn they sit the tests.
  2. Each school leads to its test route. Dates shared by several schools on one route appear once, and a second stage meant only for some schools is shown only for those schools.
  3. Every school also goes on one council application: GOV.UK says to apply by 31 October, and offers come on 1 March or the next working day. A route that publishes another day is named beside it.
  4. Dates are sorted and marked passed, happening now or coming up against today's date in the UK. The next one not yet passed becomes the answer.

Uncertainty and limits

  • Where a source gives only early, mid or late in a month, we show exactly that and keep it out of the calendar file.
  • For an entry year a route has not published, we show last cycle's dates, labelled as last cycle's, so you know roughly when to look. They are never shifted forward a year.
  • Schools and councils change dates. Each row links to its official page and the day we read it; check it before a deadline.

What the answer means

The answer is the next date on your shortlist that has not passed, with every other date in order beneath it. It does not register your child, submit a form or apply for a place, and it cannot see dates a school has not yet published.

When are the Sutton second-stage tests?

Saturday 26 September 2026 for Nonsuch and Wallington Girls, and Saturday 3 October 2026 for Wilson's, Wallington County and Sutton Grammar.

When is the Sutton application deadline?

Sutton Council gives 31 October 2026 for Sutton residents; if you live elsewhere, apply to your own council, which GOV.UK says must be by 31 October.
