Sutton SET dates and registration for 2027 entry
The SET for September 2027 entry took place on 15 September 2026. Registration closed on 31 July. Invited girls take the joint NWSSEE on 26 September; the shared boys’ second stage is on 3 October. A test registration is separate from your council school application, due by 31 October 2026.

What does the SET result tell you?

Schools determine their own eligibility standards. A successful SET outcome is not a school offer. Follow the school-specific invitation or outcome, and do not infer failure from the absence of a numerical score: successful candidates are not given SET scores.
Planning from Year 4 or Year 5
Create a fresh calendar for the intended entry year. These 2026 sittings are not dates for 2028 or 2029 entry. Our suggestion is to use Year 4 for reading, number confidence and explaining ideas; add test-specific instructions and occasional timed work as skills become secure.
- Record each target school and whether it requires a second stage.
- Keep school test registration and council preferences separate.
- Read the new cycle’s access-arrangement instructions early.
- Choose one small learning target after a practice session, rather than setting an unsupported pass percentage.
